Those chilly fall mornings really call for a nice warm breakfast to get your day started!
In our house, Saturday mornings are waffle or pancake mornings. This past Saturday, I decided to take those waffles up a notch with a quick fix. No plain syrup this time. This past chilly Saturday morning was greeted not only by some patchy frost, but with warm apple cider syrup!
The syrup is so warm and delicious. No funny aftertaste like you sometimes get with bottled syrup. The apple cider flavor really comes through and makes those waffles something extra special. The best part...soooo easy.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup apple cider
1 cup brown sugar
Directions:
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium low heat. Once melted, add the apple cider and brown sugar. Bring to a boil. Stir constantly for 2-3 more minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and serve.

Take those waffles and turn them into something seasonal by just adding a seasonal syrup. See how easy it is to practice seasonal simplicity?!
