Are you getting prepared for the big night?
You know...your gown...sparkly shoes...lots of fancy bling.
Oscar Night is this Sunday and I am getting ready! My favorite pajamas and fluffy slippers are all laid out. Yep, I am getting all decked out for the big night. Tee, hee, hee. I may not be dressed in my finest, but the snacks I will be serving will be worthy of an Oscar. Let's start with a dessert because you know only good things come from something sweet. This dessert is light on the hips yet sweet on the lips! Oh yes, you won't have to worry about slipping into your fancy pants!
Don't let the name fool you. There isn't any alcohol involved. It's more about a tiny strawberry dessert...strawberrytini...get it? Ha! You could add a little alcohol if you wanted, but this dessert is just fine the way it is. It's little yet packs a strawberry punch! Fancy enough for Oscar viewing, Easter Sunday brunch or a beautiful Spring or Summer day! Those days ARE coming you know.
The recipes makes 6 little shot glass sized desserts. So double the recipe if you need more.
Just 4 ingredients!!!
Ingredients:
1 cup strawberries hulled and halved
2 Tbsp honey
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
optional: 1 Tbsp vodka and 2 Tbsp ball sprinkles
Directions:
Over medium high heat, cook halved strawberries and honey for about 5 minutes (until softened).
Place cooked strawberries in a blender. Pulse until smooth. Set aside and cool. Meanwhile, place whipping cream and powdered sugar into a free standing mixer. Whip until medium peaks form.
Fold cooled strawberry puree into the whipped cream. Spoon into shot glasses and top with sprinkles.
*If you want to add liquor, add when heating strawberries and honey on stove.
A spoonful of this dessert will set the mood for this glamorous evening!
My favorite parts of Oscar Night are watching all the glam of the red carpet, the opening monologue, being in my pajamas and snackin'. Sounds like a perfect night to me!
Don't forget to join the party!
I'd love to see you there!
