Are you getting all geared up for ushering in the new year?
Let's usher it in with a sweet treat!
Make this dessert the day before so it has a chance to soak up the creamy Kahlua syrup. The cake is baked in a 9 x 13" pan and then cut into mini cakes with a round cookie cutter. Fancy for NYE, but you can serve Kahlua Tres Leches Cake right out of the pan. Cut into squares for whatever crowd size you need to serve.
So what do you think? Fancy enough for a cocktail NYE party or perfect for enjoying at home with your sweetie.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
7 eggs, separated
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
12 ounces evaporated milk
1/4 cup Kahlua
whipped cream
cinnamon
non-stick spray
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13" pan with nonstick spray. Beat butter with an electric mixture until creamy. Add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time until well blended. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with adding milk. Stir in vanilla. Set aside. In another bowl, with clean beaters, beat the 7 egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold the egg whites into the batter. Spoon batter into the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-23 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes. Use a wooden pick to poke the cake several times. In a small bowl, whisk together condensed milk, evaporated milk and Kahlua. Gradually pour over the warm cake about a 1/2 a cup at a time. This allows the mixture to soak into the cake before adding more. Let stand at room temperature for 3 hours before chilling the the refrigerator overnight.
Just before serving, cut out circle shapes with a circle cookie cutter. Add whipped cream and cinnamon as you serve.
Each little cake is oozing with a Kahlua cream! So decadent!
Perfect for NYE or anytime you want a special Kahlua flavored sweet treat!
Celebrate the little things that make life sweet,
Christine
