Baked Pineapple Chili Lime Wings

Yum
Time for Weekly Wing Challenge!
Last week I posted Baked Parmesan Garlic Wings.
This week, it's time to make those chicken wings tropical!
With temperatures heading away from the dangerous fingers and toes fall off category to a more reasonable freezing range, I am prepared for a HEAT WAVE...Chicago Winter Style which really means 32, but I'll take it!  So I am feeling tropical!  Thus...
Pineapple Chili Lime Wings

Pineapple Chili Lime Wings
are
some sassy wings!

When eating wings, you totally want some "sassiness" going on.
I am not a spicy wing girl, I just love wings with flavor and a teeny tiny kick, not the kind of kick that makes you break out in a full out sweat!  So, these wings are just perfect!

MMMM!  Tropical flavor in each bite!
The pineapple and lime flavor will totally make you believe that you are looking at
sand in your yard, not snow!  Put that shovel away!

adapted from The Girl in the Little Red Kitchen
Ingredients for 12 wings:
12 chicken wings
1 cup pineapple chunks
2 Tbsp lime juice
2 tsp sea salt, divided
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp chili seasoning, divided
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp lime zest
Directions:
In a blender, blend pineapple chunks, lime juice, 1 tsp sea salt, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp chili seasoning, 1 Tbsp vegetable oil and 1 tsp lime zest.  Place wings in a large baking pan.  Pour pineapple sauce over top.  Marinate for 30-40 minutes.  Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Before placing baking pan into oven, sprinkle an additional 1 tsp of sea salt and 1 tsp of chili seasoning over the wings.  Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.  Turn temperature up to 450 to bake and additional 10-15 minutes or until crispy.

Could it be any easier to bring the tropics into your kitchen?  I think not!
Another option for playoffs and another addition of Weekly Wing Challenge!
I bet you can't wait for next week's installment of Weekly Wing Challenge...
it'll be "berry" good...just a little teaser!
