Wonton Soup

Yum
Like any celebration, food is an important part.
Christmas?  Cookies...
Thanksgiving?  Turkey...
The Super Bowl?  Snacks...
Valentine's Day?  Chocolate...
Chinese New Year is no different.

I don't know about you, but Chinese New Year or not, sometimes I just crave some Chinese take-out.
No need to order take-out.  You can make your own Wonton Soup!
Making your own wontons isn't as hard as you might think.

7 ingredients to make a hot bowl of Wonton Soup!
Can't beat that!

Ingredients:
3/4 lb of ground pork
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 cup snow pea pods
3 dozen wonton wrappers
64 ounces chicken broth
Directions:
Mix ground pepper, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, black pepper and ginger until well incorporate.  Place 1 1/2 tsp of pork mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.  Dip your finger in water and rub around the edges of a wonton wrapper.  Fold each wonton wrapper in half to form a triangle.  Bring the two opposite points together and seal with water.  Repeat for each wonton until pork is used up.  Fill a large pot with water.  Bring water to a boil and boil wontons for approx, 4-5 minutes.  In a separate pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.  Add the cooked wontons and pea pods.  Heat for 2-3 minutes.
Serve.

Forget about the takeout!
You can make your own Wonton Soup.
