Tricks and treats...that's what Halloween is all about!
Or is it?
When I was of trick or treat age, I had a neighbor who never just handed out treats. Nope, when you rang my neighbor's doorbell and spoke the magic words of "trick or treat," one expected a handful of treats, maybe a comment or two about your costume and that was it. The easiest way to get some chocolate...right? Not so fast. This neighbor really took the statement "trick or treat" very literally. You wouldn't get a treat unless you did a trick...nothing naughty...it had to be a trick that was a talent. Every year I dreaded heading to that house, yet the lure of some possible treat was just too strong. Seems so funny now. So, be nice to your trick or treaters. Just give them candy and send them on their merry way.
