Wow!
Philly Cheesesteak Burger
Summer is the time for grilling! Although, we are winter grillers too. But, that is a story for another time.
Why not dress up a regular hamburger? Take it from plain old burger to this...
You may need a fork for this burger! Or, just let all the yummies drip down your arms. It's ok because it is summer! Just hose yourself off afterwards.

Ingredients:
For the burger:
2 pounds of ground beef, made into 8 1/4 pound patties
salt and pepper to taste
1 package of Sandwich Thins
For the Philly Topping:
1 onion, sliced
1 green pepper sliced
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp olive oil
For the Cheese Sauce:
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp mustard powder
3/4 cup beer
1/2 cup half and half
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
Make your hamburger patties and season to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside.
In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter. When melted and hot, add onions and green pepper. Stir fry until soft. Set aside.
For the cheese sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan. Add the flour and stir. Add the mustard powder and beer. Bring to a boil while constantly stirring. Turn down the heat to medium low. Now add the half and half and cook until thickened. Once thickened, add the cheese.
Grill your burgers until desired doneness. Place on the sandwich thin bun, add sauce, add green pepper mixture and some more sauce.
So, a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich as a burger? Whoa, it's good!
The burger is smothered in the cheese sauce!!!
Then, it is topped with onions and pepper AND more cheese sauce.
AMAZING!
Celebrate the little things that make life sweet,
Christine
