Almond Kahlua Cookies

Yum

I love the flavor of almond, don't you?
How about Kahlua...really, what's not to like about Kahlua?
Then throw in a splash of chocolate?

Almond Kahlua Cookies speak for themselves!

These chewy, gooey cookies are full of almond flavor with a bit of Kahlua in each bite.  And as you eat your way to the center of the cookie, you get more and more chocolate in each and every bite!  Heavens to betsy!  I think I need to lie down!  These Almond Kahlua Cookies are one good cookie!

Here's the recipe:
Ingedients to make 1 1/2 dozen:
1 cup sugar
1 7oz pkg almond paste
1 tsp Kahlua liquer
2 large egg whites
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 oz semi sweet chocolate
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Beat sugar and almond paste.  Add Kahlua and egg whites.  Beat until smooth.  Now add the flour and baking powder.  Once well combined, chill dough in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Drop by rounded teasponfuls onto parchment paper.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.  Remove from oven and cool in pan for 2 minutes.  Then peel cookies off parchment paper and cool completely on wire rack.
Meanwhile, melt semi sweet chocolate in microwave.  Put a dollop of melted chocolate on each cooled cookie.  Use a knife to draw through the chocolate, starting at the center and pulling out to create a star shaped pattern.

I don't think anyone could have too many cookies to choose from during the Christmas season.  Don't you agree?  I am thinking you are going to add this one to your list!  What else do you make during the Christmas season?  Old favorites?  New ones?  Leave me a message because I would love to hear all about your yummy recipes!
