Spaghizza

Yum
This is a money saving recipe that combines all the flavors and textures of spaghetti and pizza in one pot!

Inspired from a guest blogger on http://moneysavingmom.com, you will love this recipe!

Spaghizza
OK penny pinchers...yep, that's me..here's how you make this yummy casserole.

You will need the following ingredients:
8 ounces spaghetti noodles
3 eggs
¼ cup milk
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp pepper
20 oz spaghetti sauce
2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
your favorite pizza toppings (I used pepperoni in mine)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package directions.  Rinse immediately in cold water until cool and drain well.
In a medium-size bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Add parmesan cheese and seasonings.
Toss in spaghetti noodles and transfer to a greased 9×13 pan.
Pour the spaghetti sauce on top of noodles. Top with approximately half of the pepperoni. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the pepperoni and top with remaining pepperoni. Sprinkle with additional parmesan cheese if desired.
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.

Spaghizza
This recipe is even better the next day, so if you are really on the ball, make it the night before and just reheat it the next evening.  The pepperoni is so good with the cheese that is a little crispy, just like pizza.  And the spaghetti part has such a yummy sauce going on.

I am hoping by now you got the name...spaghizza?

Yep, it is a combo of spaghetti and pizza, perfect for pizza Friday!

Hope you had a great week!

Celebrate the little things that make life sweet!
