Cheesy Wedge Fries - You Have Scored!

Yum
Cheesy Wedge Fries

Look at those spuds!

If only you could scratch and sniff the screen!!!  Not only do they smell sooooo incredibly good, but they taste unbelievably delicious.  These  taters are a PERFECT game day munchie!  I actually make potato wedges whenever I want a french fry type side dish, but these are LOADED!

To make the fries you will need 4-6 medium sized potatoes, 1/4 cup olive oil, sea salt, seasoned salt and fresh ground pepper.
Cut the potatoes into wedges and place in your baking dish.  Pour on the olive oil, sea salt, seasoned salt and pepper.  Toss with your hands to mix.  Bake in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes.  If your wedges are really thick, then the time in the oven will need to increase.  They should be fork tender when they are ready.

Now make the sauce.  To make the sour cream/ranch sauce you will need to mix together 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup ranch dressing and 1/4 cup milk.  Hold onto it until the potatoes are done.

Now, gather your toppings.  Have 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 pkg. of bacon bits and 1/4 cup sliced green onions ready to go.

Once the potatoes are fork tender, spread 3/4 of the sourcream/ranch sauce onto a different baking pan and smooth out the sour cream sauce in the pan.  Place hot potatoes on sour cream sauce and then spoon on the remainder of the sour cream sauce.  Sprinkle on the toppings you gathered, except for the green onions.  Place back into the oven until the cheese melts.  When you remove it from the oven, put your sliced green onions on top.

Messy, but oh so good!

Desarae at www.ohsodeliciouso.com had some other unique ways to change up the flavor. She suggested other seasonings instead of regular seasoning salt.  Here are a few other options:

Seasoning salt, garlic, onion, sea salt

fresh herbs (or dried) thyme, seasoning salts, garlic salt, rosemary, basil

Lipton Onion Soup Mix

cumin, chili powder, garlic, peppers, onion for a Southwestern flare

curry and cumin for an Eastern flare

Can't wait to try one of the other mix- ins!

Making these fries sure helped me to score in the kitchen!  Hopefully my hometown team will too!

Happy Football Sunday!

Celebrate the little things that make life sweet!
