Strawberry Chocolate Napoleons

The Year of the Monkey started off with a bang!
Actually, it was more like a burst around here.  Woke up to a strange hissing sound.  Thought it was a gas leak and then discovered it was a water leak that changed from hissing to all out bursting!  All out panic at 4 in the morning isn't good on the nerves.  I was ready for a nap by 7, too bad I had to go to work..."un"showered by the way.  BUT, we won't get into the details.  It should have been the Year of the Fish!   Then all the water could have been seen as a good omen?  Is there such a thing?   Perhaps I didn't feed the Chinese dragon enough lucky red envelopes?  I am grasping at straws people...  Or, maybe that Chinese dragon would prefer my latest dessert?  I bet that will change the start of The Year of the Monkey into a lucky one!  Ha!
Come on...you know Strawberry Chocolate Napoleons will melt anyone's heart regardless of what kind of year it is...

A scrumptious chocolate filling is sandwiched between fresh strawberries and light, flaky layers of pastry.  A dessert fit for any valentine or anytime of the year!

Fred and Ginger...Fred and Wilma...Chocolate and Strawberries are the perfect couple!

The flavor is wonderful and the AMAZING part...5 ingredients!  That's it!

Ingredients to make 6-8
depends on size of heart shaped cookie cutter
1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
1 cup whipping cream
2 Tbsp unsweetened baking cocoa + cocoa powder for dusting
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced thinly
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Unfold defrosted puff pastry and press out seams.  Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to punch out heart shapes.  Place pastry hearts on a parchment lined baking sheet.  Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until puffy and lightly browned. Remove from oven and cool.
Once cool, carefully slice each heart in half to create a sandwich.  Meanwhile, in a free standing electric mixer, beat whipping cream, baking cocoa and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form (approximately 6 minutes).  Place thinly sliced strawberries onto the bottom half of the heart.  Top with chocolate cream and add more strawberries.  Place on the top of the heart.  Dust with cocoa powder.  Serve immediately.

Now this is love!
What a great way to end a Valentine's Day meal, with a sweet, light dessert!
You can serve this dessert anytime, just change the cookie cutter shape or cut into rectangles.

Don't forget to enter to win the ANOLON Saucepan.  Time is almost up!
