Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea

Are you ever fashionably late?
I try to be, but I am one of those on time people who are slightly bothered when someone is even a few minutes late...let alone if you are fashionably late...GASP!
But there is always a first time, right?
June 10 was National Iced Tea Day and not only am I a little late, but I am super late.  Do I dare say fashionably late?  I was perfecting the recipe.  Does that work as an excuse?
Hmmm...super late or fashionably late, I think you will find it worth it.  So park yourself on your porch in a rocking chair 'cuz it is time to sit back and enjoy some
Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea.

Just the right amount of strawberry and lemonade and ice tea.
Perfectly sweet, cool and refreshing...just right for sitting on the front, or in our case, the back porch.

Here's how you make it...
Ingredients:
4 regular tea bags
4 cups boiling hot water
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
3/4 cup frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1/2 cup water
mint leaves

Boil water.  Pour hot water over tea bags and brew for 3-4 minutes.  Remove tea bags.
Add 1/4 cup sugar and stir until dissolved.  Set aside.

In a blender, blend together strawberries, pink lemonade concentrate and water.  Blend until pureed.  (*If you use frozen strawberries, it's ok if they all aren't pureed.  They look great as "floaters" in the tea.)

Pour puree into tea blend.  Stir until combined.  Pour through a sieve to remove strawberry seeds.

To serve, pour over ice and garnish with strawberries or mint leaves.
makes about 8-10 cups

So, it's ok to be fashionably late, right?  Everyday this summer can be a National Iced Tea Day!!!
Grab a seat on the porch, sit long, talk much, laugh often and sip on some Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea.
It's those little things that make life sweet,

Christine
