A Snowman Breakfast

For most of us, this is the last Friday before school resumes after Winter Break.

Some of us may be jumping for joy that the kiddos will be back at school.
Others of us may be sad that it is over.
I actually always enjoyed having the kiddos home without all the scheduling that occurs during the school year.  It was a time for us to just hang out and reconnect as a family.  With one away at college, this time has really become special!

So, how about one last fun breakfast before school resumes?  I think even the college kids will enjoy this too...A Snowman Breakfast, 'cuz quite honestly, what's not to like about a snowman?

Hoosier Homemade has this darling idea!  She used a blue and white theme and let the food be the decoration!  Here's what you need to do to recreate the look.

Snowman Donuts:
You will need some paper straws, mini powdered donuts, red fruit roll ups for the scarf, orange gum drops shaped like a carrot nose, a flattened tootsie roll (microwave to soften and flatten), a mini reese's peanut butter cup to make the hat and mini mm's for the eyes and mouth.  You can premake them or put out all the ingredients for a snowman donut station.

Snowman Pancakes:
Cook your pancakes and then assemble with a bacon scarf, raisin eyes and Resse's Pieces buttons and nose.  She placed some mini marshmallows at the bottom for that snowy look.

Snowman Poop:
These are just white chocolate covered yogurt raisins placed on the center of your table.

White Chocolate Hot Chocolate Mugs:
Dollar store glass mugs were decorated with sharpie markers to create the snowman and served with white hot chocolate to drink.

You may come up with other ways to serve breakfast items using the snowman theme.  Or check out Hoosier Homemade.  She has great ideas that are very simple...which I just LOVE!

Having a Snowman Breakfast is just a fun way to celebrate the end of winter break and the continuation of winter.  Yes, I am trying to celebrate the continuation of winter with a little yippeee!  My new outlook on winter and new year's resolution is to embrace the cold...I will surely try.  :)

I am using this snowman's advice to keep things in perspective...

Celebrate the little things that make life sweet...even when it is -3 degrees!
